Retired: Took its last radio call in 2007, when its modern replacement debuted—complete with ASDE‑X radar and FAA-grade upgrades. 

Structure: Roughly 325 ft tall, perched above an iconic curved Saarinen canopy—offering panoramic runway oversight for 45 years. 

Post-service: Mothballed but still standing—no longer guiding flights, but ripe for creative reuse (or just dramatic photo ops).
