Height & Rank: The tower soars to 326 ft, with the cab perched at 256 ft above the ground—it was the 5th tallest ATC tower in the U.S. when it opened in early 2007.

Cab Specs: Inside, the control room spans 750–850 sq ft, with plenty of space behind the controllers so they’re not glued to the glass all day.

Design Purpose: The FAA built it tall enough to see all taxiways and runways—but not taller than needed, striking that “just right” balance.

Operational Hub: It manages one of the busiest airports in the Southwest, overseeing around 485,000 annual flights and 50+ million yearly passengers.

P50 (Phoenix Tracon) is located just below the tower.
